Bumblebee had left for the second time; Prowl was gone too, both without word or hint, and Sari could barely take it anymore. It just wasn't fair: she could wait and wait for Starscream to come back, but not when other bits of her family were disappearing. Sari always had had a problem with letting go and accepting the ways of Nautilus, but it was reaching the point where she just wanted to emotionally shut down altogether ( ... )

"Heh, no, not 'eight.'" Sari reached out, taking his hands and setting them back down. "Ate. Like eating. Food? Hang on.."

She Bended up a couple of sandwiches, and handed one to him to inspect.

Food...

"Oh!" He took the sandwich, seeming to understand... and began meticulously deconstructing it and eating each ingredient individually.

"It's good..."

Sari stared, trying to suppress a grin and failing miserably.

"Uh," she began, "Normally you eat the whole thing together. Not..piece by piece. But y'know. Whatever makes you happy."

He looked very proud of himself, still eating it piece by piece despite what she told him.

"It does make me happy."

"Good. You should be happy."

Sari took a bite out of her own sandwich, chewing quietly.

"When we finish, can we go see Tally again? Please?"

"No." He stated plainly, that glazed-over look washing over his face again.

"No... I need to be here. It whispers. It makes it feel okay." He looked out over the vast plate of glass.

Sari's shoulders dropped in disappointment, and she looked down at her lap.

"You shouldn't stay here too long. If your head hurts, you're probably remembering more. Staying here could make you forget."

"No... it helps. I know your face." He felt as though, if he strayed from here, he might forget. It was a place he had spent a lot of time before, naturally. It was no wonder, not even one of the miracles of Nautilus... bust a familiar place he connected to.

"Do I love you?"

Sari looked back up, staring at him at the question, and that little annoying lump was at her throat again.

"Well.." she murmured, "...I guess you do. Yeah. You love me. We're family."

"Oh." He looked down at his hands.

"I see..." A thumb pointed to his chest, "That's what it feels like."

"So you're... my..." he struggled with the word, "Sister? Neice...? Dauhgter...?" Those words were harder to come up with than they should have been.

"Kind of."

Sari reached up, running a hand over the back of her neck.

"Daughter, I think. Not...biologically. Sort of an adoption thing. Also I live in your house."

His eyes went wide.

"I have a house?"

"I adopt people..." he couldn't quite put the pieces together.

"That's right!" Sari exclaimed, encouragingly. She scooted forward to take his hand again.

"You're making an air force. Most of us are kids, and we all follow you. What you say. Things like that."

"Ah... uh..." He smiled.

"I like that... Air force..." He rubbed at his bandaged feet, trying to form a picture in his mind.

"That's what they called you," Sari grinned. "Air commander. Master of the skies."
