BANDSTAND maniccat October 18 2009, 22:47:39 UTC
Musical instruments and music stands full of sheet music are scattered across the stage haphazardly. Why not check it out?

Anomie had watched the construction of this venture with silent curiousity, intense curiousity, but she wasn't about to come and investigate right away.

But she is easily distracted, and Rocky isn't particularly threatenng looking, and She is so BORED and it looks so INTERESTING...

She creeps out to the bandstand, to pick up one of the sheets of music and look at the unreadable (to her) blops of ink with curiosity.

Rocky, who's busily fiddling up a storm, drops back to stand near the girl, watching her with some curiosity.

"You like music, eh?" He continues playing whilst speaking.

She tilts her head and listens for a moment,t hen smiles a sharp-toothed smile and bobbs her head, "Yes! I like music."

Anomie looks at the paper in her hand and starts picking up other peices of paper and comparing the pictures? on them to each other. The professor never taught her how to read music, but she doesn't remember that the reason she doesn't know is because she was never taught and not that she merely doesn't remember how.

She doesn't quite dare, yet, to touch the other instraments. But paper is harmless, right?

"What are these?" She asks, indicating the papers in her hands.

He hadn't been on time persay, but being "on time" was hardly a problem that plauged Graham's conscious enough for it to hinder his immediate movement to the dance floor. Unfortunately, there was a slight problem. No, more than a slight problem, it was a large and unpleasant problem, being that no one else was taking to dancing. However! Fortune did shine upon him tonight, because there was someone so very familiar to him only a little while away, and he couldn't pick a better dance partner than Miss Brea herself.

[ooc: Read above post as "brb stalking Aya."]

AFTER OBTAINING (1) ONE AYA BREA. storybreaker October 23 2009, 20:51:41 UTC
The music had begun to cue up, and only upon their arrival on the dance floor did Graham's grip let up.

"Since you accepted, I can only be led to believe you know how to dance already, right Miss Brea?" His foot tapped in beat now. "Right! And even if you don't, you'll know soon! Although I would be disappointed if you didn't, what a frustratin' story that would be!" Both hands now moving with the flow of the music, the mechanic leaned in close for a second, "I might want to fight you instead, if that's the case!" He leaned back again, smiling so very broadly. "So, let's hope this stays a happy story for you tonight, because either way, it will be for me!"

[ooc AGAIN: lmao, probably the wrong kind of music for what Rocky was playing but. I thought this song was appropriate.]

Dancing was no stranger to Aya. The night life of New York had typically a been vigorous one, even during her years spent as a police officer and government agent. Her home and social life had been pretty much next to nonexistent outside of her work. (The only thing that had drawn her to the opera house on Christmas Eve twelve years ago, ironically, was a nagging instinct and a pestering guy convinced he was her boyfriend ( ... )

Was she really at the right place? This was the first question she asked herself, as she paused, looked at the directions written on her hand skeptically and contemplated what was going on ( ... )

Social gatherings were among the best places for what felt like a long time reunion. If Aya wouldn’t be there to meet up with her other self daughter first, someone else would have been able to keep an eye on her until then. And there were quite a few people around who wouldn’t see a child put through any harm.

Nevertheless, it did not inspire any intentions for Aya to stall. Immediately after clicking out the connection between herself and the network, Aya was out the door and traversing districts. Granted, she could have made it much faster if she focused her willpower on becoming the ‘67 Cadillac again. But instinct just told her that Eve, having just arrived, might not take kindly to meeting her mother pulling up as a car. (As if kids her age weren’t timid enough already with finding their parents attending these sort of events ( ... )

It wasn't that Eve was over-bothered by the need to go be social amongst the very few party goers there. She was more concerned at the fact that in order to do so, two things were required. The first was to ignore ‘no talking to stranger rule’. This wasn't a massive problem: because there really weren’t any creepy strangers around, but being lost and alone so long, left her fairly wary of anyone not already in her memory bank. The second was a bit more problematic; she had to want to get off her chair.

Finally contently comfortable in said chair, if still a little bored, she tried grasping the temporarily ungraspable. But no matter how many times she mulled it all over; whether she looked at the strange scenario from straight on, sideways or from several steps ahead, the answer was always the same. In seven foot high neon letters; this was CRAZY! But at least the party was cool ( ... )
