[Aya has been quiet throughout this fight, looking at the situation as objectively as possible.]According to my calculations, the lack of consensus on what to do about the Dark Aeon is hindering our effectiveness. It is very likely that we are at times Bending against one another ( Read more... )

Do we even have a method of curing or depowering the Aeon? Unmaking... I don't like it, but at least we know how to do it, and what the result will be.

I am uncertain due to lack of data on the subject. Those were simply two possibilities that were presented as alternatives to Unmaking.

[Well, this is awkward. Hello, Aya. You totally don't remember that Drift accused you of being part of the Aeon's attack, right? Because that would be really, really embarrassing.]

First step. We decide on Unmaking. [Done.] Because killing them...isn't fragging working.

[Drift has been killing for days and it has not done much except get really boring.]

Second, we need a team set to teleport people who get too injured to continue. We did that last time.

Third. A target.

[Good thing Aya doesn't hold grudges, Drift, or it would be awkward.]

[As it is, she tilts her head curiously to one side.]

We already have a clearly-marked target.

[Because, y'know, Nautilus's shot was rather helpful.]

[I-it's still a bit awkward, if you ask Drift.]

Yeah, well, sorry. I've been occupied.

[Taken over by the Aeon, then rescuing a little girl, then getting all emo about how Doctor Holiday is kicking more ass than he is....it takes up a lot of processing power.]

[Fortunately, Aya doesn't notice.]

It is understandable. Our recent circumstances have been far from idea.

Frankly, I think it would be best if we went for depowering it. Once it's depowered and cured, it would be easier to communicate with it and try to modify it's behavior through psychological instead of forcible means through bending. A lot of people here have ethical problems with killing anything or using supernatural means to change the thought processes of a living creature, but, while some people might not like the idea of only depowering it, I'm sure no one here would be psychologically unable to do it or unable to handle it after the fact.

[Give her a minute to process that, Jazz. Her knowledge of psychology is textbook with no real world experience.]

That is a logical assessment.

You know where I stand.

There is no guarantee of continued safety, even with Unmaking. Isis was unmade, and remnants of her are here still. Another Wakened by the name of Wreck-Gar was also unmade some time ago, and he returned to us.

[Processing...processing...]

Then it seems there is no real permanent solution.

Nothing that can be guaranteed. All out options are taking a chance. By removing its power, willing it to stop and to no longer have the ability to hurt anyone is a tactic that more of us could support. Permanence isn't the issue at the moment. Stopping him is.

[Processing...processing...] I do not understand. Could there not be a shard of another Aeon contained in this one to allow for resurrection?

Then no fragments would remain such as with this "Isis"?
