[Much less severe than it could have been. Thanks. That. Is not helpful for Caesar's nerves.
But he sees Holiday is going to take care of Rex, and only replies after he's listened in a bit to her conversation with Death.... and after Danny's reaction that allowed him to see the blood. There's blood. There's blood. But he's alive. Caesar forces himself to sound calm even if his heart is hammering, and even if the strain is still evident in his voice.]
You sent for Doctor Holiday. She'll take care of him. Between his nanites and her... he should be fine.
[Caesar's saying it mostly for his own benefit.
After a moment, Caesar's voice drops to something more reassuring, and he's speaking to Rex directly. Rex probably doesn't need it, but Caesar needs to say it to calm his own nerves. Reassuring someone reassures him.]
It's going to be okay, Rex. Doctor Holiday should be there soon, and she'll take care of you.
[Danny's eyes go wide as he sees the video, voice caught in his throat. Rex is clearly injured, in the arms of Death -- before reason settles in, he acts purely on instinct.]
[There's a low groan from Rex. He hears his name being spoken.]
[He turns somewhat, eyelids cracking open a bit. He's got his left hand over his right shoulder, which has been run through with something very sharp. There's a good deal of blood on his glove and jacket, but it doesn't look like much more is flowing out. Bending and nanites may have something to do with that.]
[Binky won't let you fall, Holiday. Once she's on, he moves- or rather it seems the scenery does as they hang in place. When his hooves set down again, they're already where they need to be.]

It didn't go well, and Caesar will process that after he processes Rex's current condition.]
Rex--? Death, what's his condition?
[He doesn't look like he's in danger of dying. His nanites should handle the damage fine--whatever the damage is, because he can't quite make it out.]

Death nods slowly, looking back down at Rex. Xemnas can wait. He won't get far.
When next he speaks, it's in a softer tone than his usual.]
...HE WILL BE FINE, CAESAR. I PROMISE YOU THAT.

[But he's not dead. This can be fixed.]
Where are you? What's your condition?

WE ARE YET IN THE NORTH. I BELIEVE REX IS STABLE, BUT HE DOES REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
BINKY WILL TRANSPORT YOU.
[Binky? Why yes, that means the big white horse just outside. Don't ask how or when, it just does.]

Alright.
[She doesn't ask questions LIKE WHAT THE HELL but, instead, follows orders and climbs on Binky. Rex is in trouble.]

[Something about this seems familiar.]
He'll be all right, won't he? You'll make sure of that?
