Butterfly Diary 6 - [video]

[There is, as can be expected, another box of chocolates being shown on the camera, awaiting discovery by one of the residents of Nautilus. No more than a few moments pass before the intended recipient arrives - Sae, who seems surprised by the sight of the strange object on the table.]

Was that there before?

[She walks over to the table, ( Read more... )

[ the chocolates aren't so bad; of course, dom isn't here to celebrate valentine's with her (despite their anniversary being much more important than a day dedicated to corporate businesses - alas she is french, and the french do love romance...), but at the moment, mal doesn't seem bothered. ]

[ in fact, the smile she has upon seeing this girl she's never met before seems entirely... genuine. ]

They are chocolates.

Chocolates?

[Of course, Sae tenses just a little when she sees the woman in her journal - she always gets nervous when meeting new people. But she really is curious about this gift from the city...and the woman seems friendly, so there's no reason to shy away from her.]

So...it's the same thing that's in Hot Chocolate?

Mn, you could say that. Hot Chocolate has cocoa, which is also in normal chocolate.

Have you never eaten it before?

No, I haven't. We never had any in our village, and no travelers ever brought any...not that I can remember, at least.

[Not that they ever had many visitors...but that was another conversation entirely. One that Sae had no intentions of starting.]

But, cocoa...is that a plant?

They're good. I think the city is just saying it likes us.

[He knows what they do, but is starting to find this kind of amusing. The little snot.]

You think so? Does that mean others have been receiving them, too?

But...if they really are good, I suppose I should try one.

Oh yeah. Lots of people got them. They're good.

[She nods once; if Mitham says they're alright, they must be. She trusts him.]

I will, then.

[...but not right now, it seems. She doesn't make any move to open the box, yet, instead continuing on to ask a question.]

Have you been alright, Mitham? I haven't seen you in a long time.

[Then again, it's been a long time since she's seen anybody...]

It seems to be, and it seems to be; I've seen similar sweets before.

You have? Someone told me that there are many people in the city who were given boxes.

[She looks down at the box, still having trouble keeping eye contact with V; Sae may find it easier to talk to people now than she did when she first arrived, but she's still very shy...even with people she's spoken to before.

So don't mind that her eyes seem to be having trouble finding a spot to settle on, V - questions and conversation still don't come easily to her.]

Do you...think that I should try one?

Even I received a box, though I haven't been into it.

[He doesn't mind at all, well aware of how shy Sae seems to be. It's enough that they're speaking; he'll give her time to grow more comfortable, talking to him. Among other things, he's used to the mask unnerving others.]

If you want to...? The chocolates are apparently a gift from Nautilus, so they ought to be harmless.

Well...now's as good of a time as any, right?

[So, finally, she opens the box, taking one of the chocolates out. There's no reason to debate, anymore - she takes a bite, chewing carefully, at first, then more quickly. Finally, she smiles.]

They're really good! Even better then I expected.

((If you'd rather I didn't have her eat any chocolate this late after the event, that's perfectly fine! Just leave me a note and I can come back and redo this.))
