[Sorry, Optimus. This one's locked from you and open to everyone else. Ratchet figures hearing this won't do much good for your own guilt levels. And yes, he's purposely doing this before Wheeljack and Jazz return, that way it doesn't seem like he's calling them out. He wants to talk to them bot to bot when they do come back, anyway.]
[At the moment, the old bot's seated at one of his work tables, tapping a stylus against the table top. When he starts speaking, he doesn't look directly into the camera.]
I know there are a lot of you who are new here. Recent newcomers who are struggling to understand what this place is, what it stands for, what it is capable of... What you will soon be able to do if you stay. There's a lot to learn here, but there is one very important lesson I want to speak to the lot of you about right now.
[Setting the stylus down, he shifts in his chair, finally turning to look at the camera.]
We have reality storms that sweep through here every few weeks. Perhaps once a month. The storms are generated based on the influence of residents here in the city. We affect the city just as it is able to affect us. Therefore...reality storms. Occasionally a storm may also occur when things around here get out of balance. I still believe we've suffered a storm or two due to high numbers of murders over short periods of time. That much violence and negativity hurts Nautilus. The city as a living being doesn't care for it.
When storms hit, many residents are affected at once. Sometimes it's something as harmless as the urge to sing about every emotional reaction you have to something. You might wake up as animal. Sometimes it's far more dangerous. And when things get complicated in a storm, it should be the responsibility of those unaffected to look after those who get hit. If we're forced into altered mental states or even alternate versions of ourselves, we may have the potential to do serious harm. These aren't changes we have control over. And we need to help others deal with them. Allowing someone who is normally very passive and peaceful to run rampant, ruining property and killing their fellow Wakened can be a terrible burden of guilt to find on one's shoulders once the storm ends. It also goes without saying that it can be a real nightmare for others while it's still in effect.
Please keep it in mind that if you're having trouble with someone who's been altered and they've been here in the city a good deal longer than you have, it'd be a good idea to get help. Contact an Angelii or Ashura. We've ascended a level or two above normal Wakened and have abilities at our disposal that give us certain advantages. Even calling for help from someone with strong bending skills who can deal with a violent situation quickly and effectively isn't a bad idea. Or at least get aid from other Wakened who know how to bend. Strength in numbers to contain problems. If odds are bad and you have the option to get help, do it. There's no shame in it. You'll be a lot happier later when you're still in one piece and I'm not lecturing you while bending you back together again.
And slag... This goes for the monster invasions we get every so often, as well. We've got of able-bodied fighters 'round here. There's nothing heroic about letting a pack of monsters mangle you when there's potential back-up all over the city.
