Coming home, tired and in scrubs, she tossed her things a little unceremoniously at the door. A idle thought about how to bribe her boyfriend into making her a cup of tea and joining her for a bubble bath crossed her mind. Then again, he may have earned Valentine's Day expectations over the years, which meant she'd have to cook something romantic. Not that she didn't love him, but she wasn't up for anything but just resting with him tonight.

"Valentine's Day freak accidents suck," she announced as she came into the living room, a light indicating Spock was there. She stopped short, however, at the sight on the table.

At the sound of her voice he stood, knocking his knee on the table showing how nervous he was. His face flushed a little to. "I believe today is the Earth holiday Valentine's Day correct?" He licked his lips and glanced at the table.

"It is," she replied with a nod, crossing the room to stand on the other side of the coffee table. Glancing down at the roses, and, -- oh, god, the cheesiest bear ever -- she asked, "Are these for me or are they from your secret admirer?"

Secret admirer? No. "As I have said I have no interest in Cadet Uhura and these are for you." He looked down in a show of embarrassment that he hardly ever let anyone see. “I believe the expression is ‘Happy Valentine’s Day.’"
