Totally kidding about the "pests" part...it was just a silly typo I decided to leave. Anyway, recently we acquired a new pet - my family's pet cockatiel, Pacino! how long do cockatiels live? i've forgotten. they were never very friendly at the pet store i worked for until we got a nice bunch of hand-raised ones. they were really cute and didn't bite at least.
i like birds a little. they are very clean as far as pets go.. comparatively. what kind of litter do you use? i used walnut bedding and a cat litter sifter that was more of a mesh.. it was perfect.
he's doing some cool imitation bird calls in that video.

the only real mess that he makes is his seeds shells get spilled, but it's easy to sweep that up. ugh...the kitties are another story. tiny apparently won't poop in a box with ANY sort of mess in it, so she always likes to leave us turds right in front of the box. i'll give her a small benefit of the doubt: we got her around the time we had our xmas tree up, and that was her favorite place to "go" so she never totally got used to a litter box like sadie and maple. oh, and we use tidy scoop or something...i'm totally up to try new types though!
oh...and as far as the bird calls: we've noticed he's started imitating the chimney swifts that live in our chimneys and come out every morning and dusk. it's really cute when they start up, he'll say "hello" and start chirping :)
pacino is definitely an interesting pet lol
