Starting Wednesday of last week, it has been a whirlwind of awesome music. From Hurray for the Riff Raff, to a Panic Buttons surprise reunion, to the Pine Hill Haints' new album (holy shit so good...we have five advance copies on cd and lp for the store if anyone's interested).

okay, the panic buttons... travis' band, right? if I remember correctly, and it's been 10 years so I may not, but that was the name of his band in high school.... lance was in it, i think. wow, the memories... :)

Oh yay! I love Hurray for the Riff Raff. We caught them in Austin during SXSW. Awesome shots.

oh awesome! yeah, we met them a few years back when they first came to huntsville as "crooks and nannies" and then again under "why are we building such a big ship" and a few times as "hurray..."

i know they aren't all of the same people, but it's basically walt and alynda so whatever they are called it's fantastic :)

was their sxsw show good?

um panic buttons, probably not...they are a local band from around here (but super awesome) although apparently their album got released in Sweden and it took off there haha. however, the members are now in thomas function (http://www.myspace.com/thomasfunction) and they are one of my favs.

hurray for the riff raff (http://www.myspace.com/hurrayfortheriffraff) is from new orleans and absolutely beautiful. my fav song is june bug waltz, so i recommend that one first! but i think you can download their album from their myspace page :)
