Yesterday we went to pick up some records from a gentleman, Dan, that lives in the Russell Erskine Apartments. He gave us a wonderful tour of the building. dan told us that someone in new york bought the building and three years ago sent a group down here to restore it. they (only lol) intended to spend 7 million, and ended up spending close to 11 million.
the entire basement floor is now apartments, laundry, and lounge areas (very nice, i might add) where once it was the parking garage.
i'm so obsessed with historic buildings, i'm starting to scare myself. oh well!

i always see old people sitting outside. i'm glad it's apartments and not another empty building.
