Top 5 Femslash Pairings

Made for femslash_land  . Can't say I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Ah, well.

[Buffy the Vampire Slayer]

TARA: I am, you know.
Willow stops to face her.
WILLOW: What?
Tara looks over her shoulder at her.
TARA: (meaningfully) Yours.

Willow and Tara are screwed up love. When they first meet, they immediately connect, through their magic, through their not so entirely different personalities, and build a relationship based on love. Willow and Tara love each other and that doesn't stop them from doing really stupid things and decisions when the times get rough. I feelt that if they were given a proper second chance, they'd have lots of issues to work out, and I love them despite of that and because of that.

[Fried Green Tomatoes]
PROSECUTOR: Then tell us, Mrs. Bennett, why would a respectable Christian woman go anywhere with this Idgie Threadgoode, I object. whose reputation is known far and wide as a notorious liar and drunkard?
DEFENSE: Objection!
JUDGE: Sustained!
PROSECUTOR: Why did you leave with Idgie Threadgoode that day?
JUDGE: Answer the question, Mrs. Bennett.
RUTH: Because she-- She's the best friend I ever had. And I love her.

Idgie and Ruth are true love. I heart this movie, and I heart them. The South of the 30s tries to put many obstacles between them, their relationship and the people they care about, yet they never fail to inspire their surroundings, and even following generations of woman when the Whistle Stop Cafe is just an old, abandoned place you pass on your a way somewhere else.

[Buffy the Vampire Slayer]

FAITH: Well, look at you. All dressed up in big sister's clothes.
BUFFY: You told me I was just like you. That I was holding it in.
They approach until they're standing face to face.
FAITH: Ready to cut loose?
BUFFY: Try me.
FAITH: Okay then. Give us a kiss.
Buffy punches her in the jaw. They fight for a while.
FAITH: Not getting tired are you? I'm just startihg to feel it.

Buffy and Faith are Slayer love. The Slayer, the only girl in the whole world chosen to fight vampires, demons and the forces of evil. That gives us hell of an interesting dynamic. Now imagine if we got not one, but two Slayers. Intrigued yet? Let me tell you this, this ain't gonna be simple. And if you're all for the shallow side of things, just imagine Faith on Spike's place in season 6. Intrigued yet?

[The L Word]

ALICE: Captain Stubing … Oh God, is that a periscope in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Alice and Dana are playful love. The L Word is what I call a gulty pleasure show. But I do remember the times when it was at least remotely good, and the thing I remember loving was the relationship between these my two favorite characters. Initially friends, later something much more; Alice and Dana never lost their charm and adorableness and playful sexytimes... at least before it all went to hell.

[Buffy the Vampire Slayer]
CORDELIA: What's he waiting for? What's his problem? (rolls her eyes) Oh, that's right, he's a guy.
WILLOW: (disgusted) Yeah, him and Xander. Guys.
CORDELIA: Who do they think they are?
WILLOW: A couple of guys.

Willow and Cordelia are unfullfiled love. We already know that Willow's gay, and that Cordelia has a thing for outsiders she used to hate, but now is more than happy making out with them in school closets. It all results in subtextual evidence of their love that could have been. For your furher delving into the awesomeness that is a Willow/Cordy 'ship, I highly reccomend gabrielleabelle 's Closet series.
