Day 11 - A show that disappointed you

I'm easily disappointable, to be honest. However, I decided to dedicate this spot to The L Word. While it was hardly ever perfect, I liked it at the time, I still am quite fond of the characters (nevermind their rather inconsistent writing and oftentimes strangely changing behaviour every season) and it was ( Read more... )

:((( Reading those two articles annoyed me and I don't even watch the L Word. All I knew about Jenny was an awesome vid I once saw, so I had no idea what happened to her in the later seasons.

Yeah. She was probably the most compelling character on the show and they screwed her over like that. *angryface*

Even though I haven't seen all of the L Word seasons, I've still managed to pick up on things through sheer fandom osmosis - I thought Dawn and Her Lover Cindy was awesome: *This* video positively cracked me up! You don't really need to know anything about Final Fantasy to find it hilarious.

ITA with this SO HARD! I may be in the minority, but I always liked Jenny and I was pissed at the way she was painted as a villain starting back in season 4. But the end of season 5 saw Jenny realizing her mistakes and starting to makes amends. Then season 6 rolled around and they shoved her straight into evil-bitch mode and killed her off. WTF?

That's not even taking into consideration the fail of every other storyline in season 6 including the MAIN FRAKKING STORYLINE of 'Who killed Jenny?' NEVER being answered! Again, WTF?! I'm still fond of the early seasons but season 6 did taint my view of the show and the people behind it (well...just the writers, really. I still adore all of the actors :D)

I think Max is a completely different story though because I don't think the writers ever had a decent grip on who that character was and what kind of arc he would have. They just threw him in there to be PC and never bothered to actually DO anything with him. Poor Max:(
