30 Days of TV Meme: Day 02
It looks like this isn't going to be a daily thing...
Day 01 - A show that never should have been canceled
Day 02 - A show you wish more people were watching
Six Feet Under!!! One third of my all time favorite TV production calls for attention! Seriously, this might be the best thing television ever created. Except "it's not TV, it's HBO." I adore only everything about it. It's basically about a family who runs a funeral home, and death is a basic premise. In fact, every episode begins with a person dying. Nope, this show doesn't avoid difficult or tabooed subjects. But the best part is the characters. They. Are. So. Fucking. Real. They are incredibly complex and compelling, regardless of their race, gender or sexual orientation. It's not easy to watch them struggle, hence it's not a show for everyone, but it deserves more attention, dammit!
If you're a fan of Alan Ball and his American Beauty, you definitely shouldn't miss Six Feet Under: he wrote it. The movie and the show are similar in many ways. One of them is vivid imagination of every character, which makes the whole series even richer and more entertaining to watch.
Have I mentioned the huge artistic appeal this whole thing has? No? Look, even the promo trailers are so well-done.
