It was only supposed to be a friendly night out on the town, a chance to relax away from the school and every possible establishment crammed with couples out on dates -- so where better to escape human social holidays than among the demons at Nyx's Lounge

Fine. He could be patient, until the perfect moment came to slip away.]

Theo. Hello.

Always a pleasure, Miss Greer.
[No it wasn't. Not by a long shot.]

Likewise. [She laces her fingers] I would ask something a bit trite like 'do you come often' or 'what are your hobbies' but [laugh] I'd already be familiar with that. So then...hmmm...Oh! I know...
What's you type of girl?

[Contrary to her arcana, saying that Lynne wasn't into 'love', 'romance', and above all 'Valentine's Day' was an understatement. Despite her protests she was also herded into one of the waiting tables. As opposed to many other prospective bachelors/bachelorettes, Lynne looked more like a trapped rabbit looking for any chance to bolt.]

...You don't even want to be here, do you, Miss Sawyer?

Not really.... to be honest, I kinda wanted to get away from Valentine's stuff. It's not my thing... [She fiddles with a hair strand] You don't really seem like you want to be here either.

[This is going to be TERRIBLE.
River would never say foulmouthed things aloud, or even think it most of the time, but this seemed to be one of those appropriate situations. It was quickly becoming clear escape wasn't going to be an option so rather than be guided, she simply snapped her trademark smile and took a seat around the most 'normal' options.]

[The lot of 'em were unfriendly. Seamus winced and rubbed his arms]
Ah, chris' on a crutch! THat's gonna be smartin' in the mornin'. [Then he looked up and saw it was a Lady. Oops. He blushed and shifted]
My apologies Ma'am for havin' t'hear that. Did the table hit y'in that bump?

Oh! No, no, I'm fine. It didn't touch me at all. Are you all right, Seamus?
Reply
Yes, I'll be all right. They been treating you okay, Miss River? [certainly the rough lot of them were not going to be nice to a lady. tsktsk.]
S'artinly a strange event...

[Speed dating? Wow, well this was not what he had expected. At all. Ever. Seamus shifted uncomfortably in his seat and wondered if he should have brought a book. Or ten. perhaps twenty. Yes. Maybe he could quote poetry at them! Sappy romantic poe -
Oh god, that would be horrible. A terrible idea. So, instead, he sat there, too afraid to look up at whoever came to his table]

Um. Hey... [Awkward hair fiddle] Not...what we were expecting, huh...

Lynne! I was s'artin I was the only one still stuck here. [chuckles] Not that 'm glad you're here too, but better t'know a friend. [sighs] No. Not at all.. How about for you?

But..I guess it's still a chance to hang out with people? Just on a timer and with demons...

[Lawrence tried. He tried hard to resist being a part of this cockamamie foolishness, but the Kikuri-Hime who seemed to be overseeing the event would have none of it. She gave him a cold, hard stare--a stare which icy enough to unnerve even the most hardened of men. Unfortunately for Lawrence, he was none of those. He was immediately unnerved, and he did not know why he felt that way. All he knew was that he wanted it to stop.
Slowly, he backed away from the Kikuri-Hime and found himself in a new seat. He heard a bell rang. People shuffled around, and suddenly he was faced with someone he was completely unprepared to talk to.
He nervously tugged at his cravat. This was not going to go well for him. But then again, nothing ever really did.]

I say, dood, you're an attractive...dood?

...What sort of Devil's trickery is this? I'd like it if you didn't comment so much on my appearance. It's... creepy. For that matter, what are you? Where is this? Which gate of Hell did I fall into this time?

I, fair dood, am simply known as Troll, after my father Troll, and his father Troll, and my mother Trolldette. This is the lady Nyx's and her event of matchmaking. Are you perhaps one of those mortals that lose their memories and need true love to remember even where they are? [The worst part is he sounds sincere and maybe a bit hopeful]
