Even with all her insecurities about herself, Heather knew that at least studying was something she was good at. Her grades were proof of that, after all, there was no way she could have just denied that fact. And if this way she could help the other people in her group with something she was good at for once.. That would be nice, wouldn't it ( ... )

After having finished his rigorous search for a selection of novels he had yet to read, Lawrence stepped out from the aisle of crime novels. Looking down from the border of "Witness for the Prosecution", he noticed the two girls at the table not far from him.

One of them seemed very nervous for some reason. He furrowed his brow in deep thought as to why, but shrugged after a few moments and continued scanning the top of the page. He continued walking briskly across the room, setting his stack of novels down on the table and planting himself in the nearest chair.

Lillian hadn't finished eating yet when she received Emi's text. Strangely, it made her smile. Even if it was just a study group, it would be an opportunity to get to know her teammates better, at least a little. It was surprising how much a person could learn about someone simply by watching how they studied and learned ( ... )

Lynne finished off her can of coke from dinner before she made her way to the library. Halfway there, she dropped it into the recycling bin while she looked over Emi's message again. She absently flipped her phone in her hand and as she kept walking. She wasn't used to doing study groups. She usually did it herself because one of the few times she'd tried, it'd been more distracting then helpful but... well, she really did need all the help she could get where she sucked. Besides, it couldn't hurt too bad to take a break from solo study and work with some other people for a change.

She noticed a few other people at the table already. She smiled a little at them and took a spare seat. "Hey."

The sound of another person's voice so soon was a relief, as quiet as it was. Emi looked up to see who it was. "Hey Heather. Thanks for coming," she said with what was almost a smile before returning to her usual serious look. Of course it was Heather. She still couldn't say she knew the other girl very well, but so far in she had been one of the most reliable. Her prompt attendance proved that much. Emi's attention returned to her book, but she motioned for Heather to take a seat.

Well, that was one down. Next came Lillian and Lynne not long after. "You guys are earlier than everyone else obviously. Have a seat," she waved them to sit as well. "Do you know if anyone else is coming? I sent a text to everyone, but who knows how well that's going to work."

Lester was standing in the dorm lounge, staring at the time on his piPod and wondering why it felt like he was forgetting something. There was something about this particular day that sounded familiar. It wasn't his birthday. And it wasn't Carla's. And it didn't really seem to have a lot of significance. But. There was something about it.

He started humming along to the Doctor Layton theme as it started playing in his ears. He would think of what today was. Eventually.

Lawrence had calmed down quite a bit since his encounter with Emi, but his calm had done nothing to lessen his confusion and apprehension about the situation. Upon entering the dorm, he realized he had no idea where to find these people other than at their designated rooms ( ... )

He thought he heard a voice on the other side of his piPod. It didn't sound much like Djinn's, and he would have noticed if his fairy was talking to him. It was kind of loud. Maybe it was a ghost? Just because the mailboxes didn't have ghosts didn't mean that there weren't-

He turned around and found an unfamiliar face standing by him. He blinked and pulled one earbud out.

"Hmmmm~?" He looked left to right to confirm that there wasn't anyone else around. Well. This person was probably talking to him. "Can I help you?"

Lawrence adjusted his pin in nervousness. "I have been... entrusted with the task of finding some members of a study group. I'm new here, and don't really know anyone. Would you mind providing me with some assistance?"

It had come out exactly as it had the first time. He wished he could have worded it more eloquently, but he really just wanted the whole situation to end as soon as possible.
