How would you read The Tomorrow Series? Gray Morning and then Surrender the Night?

Gray Morning is actually book 3, but Surrender the Night and Gray Morning need reworking... GM is at least finished, and the major plot points of that should remain the same, just the pacing/timing will be changed in (yet another) rewrite.
