Oh man, Savin is not having an easy time of it (politically OR emotionally!), is he? I definitely don't think things are going to be simple from here on out, either.

For whatever reason, his grip lingers before he pulls his hand away.

This particular sentence stood out to me, heh.

It’s one of the things I always loved about her -- and how she wouldn’t ever hesitate to put me in my place and challenge me. Just like Jazz did.

Just like Mitchel does.

Hah, maybe it's just me, but I so noticed the parallel and comparison between Mitchel and Savin's former lovers.

He's not having an easy time at anything, nope. Because I'm not nice. Ever. Poor bb.

It was supposed to. ;) Savin's missing an important signal there.

THAT was entirely intentional. Gee, I wonder if I threatened Savin with a fic where he and Mitchel have an actual relationship that starts out like normal relationships do if he wouldn't shut up about something else? Oh, that's right, I did. But the progression of this has to be slow enough to be believable... so far I think it's working. xD

I loved Mitchel totally losing his shit laughing. I don't know why -- it was just so human of him, haha. Savin's offer to let the Resistance win surprised me, but he also had a good point. It's not really better to let the Empire collapse, is it? And there's no one else who could be Emperor in his place.

That obviously wasn't his only reason for making the offer, though, and I'm glad Mitchel called him on it.

I loved the ending. The implication that Savin's going to give Mitchel a place on the Council again (at least behind the scenes) is really intriguing. If he is on the Council, you know he and Savin are eventually going to end up fucking on the Council Room table someday.

I loved it, too. Because it was a completely unguarded reaction from him. Letting the Empire collapse or moving it towards what the Resistance wants -- both aren't ideal, definitely. Poor bb is so lost right now.

Of course Mitchel would. ;)

I think it'll be more behind the scenes, but yes, Savin's intending to make him work for him, again. And yeah, they probably would. Because Savin loves fucking on tables apparently. ;)
