Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is the third series of Yu-Gi-Oh! set an indeterminate time into the future. It's far enough into the future that the hologram technology once designed for playing Duel Monsters has now been incorporated into other aspects of life, such as communications and advertising, and well as other technological advancements, such as fully functional robotic replacement limbs. Duel Monsters itself has evolved to the point where some people play the game while riding motorcycles called D-Wheels. Riding duels have become somewhat of a sport, popular enough to draw humongous crowds for even the simplest of duels. World class duelists are celebrities, way too popular for their own good ( ... )
