Mafia: Start!
Welcome everyone to the arena! ((The arena isn't much; just a large room with seating available, which is the only room accessible from a hallway past the now open main door.)) Are you ready for a healthy dose of competition? Your first game will be a game of Mafia. For those of you that haven't played, this is a game of deduction, suspicion, and teamwork!
Here is the way this game is played:
Three of you, randomly chosen, are now secretly Mafia members. You know who you are through a message, but you are urged to keep your role a secret. The rest of you are Innocents, but don't despair, your point in this game is just as crucial. The most important part of this game is to not tell anyone your role, lest you be killed. Lying is, of course, encouraged for this game.
Mafia runs in phases. In the day phase, everyone is gathered. Together, you will deliberate and vote for a player to execute on the suspicions of being a Mafia member. Take care, because choosing unwisely could mean executing an innocent citizen! Killed players are, obviously, unable to play for the rest of the game. If there is no majority in the votes by the end of the day phase, it will be up to us to choose for them from among your suggestions. The executed player will join the dead, and whether they were a Mafia member or an Innocent will be revealed.
In the night phase, Mafia members will deliberate and choose a citizen to kill off. Each member will vote who to kill. Again, if a majority cannot be reached by the end of the night phase, we will choose from among their votes.
The game will continue until either all the Mafia members have been executed, or the Mafia outnumber the Innocents. Whichever side wins will receive 25 points each!
