You Stink.

I hate walking the morning court paperwork up to detectives. I feel like I'm getting hit in the face the moment I open the door. The receptionist wears SO MUCH perfume, I can barely breath. The air is so thick with it. I hold my breath as long as I can while she signing off on the paperwork I brought her ( Read more... )

She looks like she showers often. She looks very neat and clean. I don't think that's the issue.

I agree about perfume, I think it's total overkill and icky.

That being said, I do have a vanilla body oil, and sometimes when I wear my vanilla deodarant, I put a tiny little dab of the vanilla oil on too, so I smell like cookies. Boys are attracted to cookies. It's a fabulous trick. :)

But I don't even do this very often. :)

Subtle cookie scent = Yummy.

Overpowering flowery scent = Yucky.

I own a lot of perfume because I like nice scents, but I hardly use it. The problem with wearing perfume is that if you wear it a lot, you start to not notice the scent anymore if you keep on wearing the same thing.

Most likely, this woman puts it on until she can smell it, and at that point, it's too heavy and cloying for everyone else.

OR she may be trying to cover up the smell of unwashed cop bodies.

It's probably the first one. That's what happened to my mom. She has used Design for YEARS. She can't smell it anymore. I used to hate when she would put the stuff on. A large bottle lasts her less than a month. It's terrible.

One more thing... When I DO plan on wearing my perfume, I use non scented deoderant and/or soap/shampoo that is unscented. It's kinda hard to find, but having multiple kinds of scents mingle is not my idea of WIN.

Which leads me to wonder...is this a generational thing?

definitely not a generational thing - all the club rats around my age reek of drakaar, gucci envy, and jean paul gauttier. and i mean REEK. it's cuz of ball sweat and vag odor.

That's disappointing. I was hoping that only the baby-boomers liked to drench themselves in bad perfume. That way I wouldn't have to smell it once they all die off.

people can't smell themselves well, like when someone has really bad BO but they don't notice it until they get told about it. Maybe its the same because now that perfume has become their "BO"

sakira_ka touched on that. I agree.
