and anecdotally, i have never ever heard of a second labor being longer, or even as long, as the first one.
not ever.

Also, I hope this isn't too nosy, but personally, I'd be a little more firm with the price. I wouldn't want people to pay you less than you are worth. I would say something like, my services cost X, but I also offer a sliding scale option for those who need it. Please contact me to discuss. Is $600 the going rate where you live? Seems very low to me.

the problem with you mostly awesome suggestion is that it makes me trapped in everett for the four weeks that i am on-call when a mama is due. its true that most on-call periods won't last the full four weeks, but anything that limits my ability to travel to kent on the weekends really upsets my family. like a lot. and i am willing to put myself in that position for a close friend such as your lovely wife, but for a complete stranger, its probably not best.
maybe in the future, we won't be going down the quite so often, but for right now, its a huge priority.

and about the mama/baby photos, i spent a really long time looking at stock photos on the internet and i just can't find one i like. it would be awesome to use one of a friend or an actual client, with her permission, of course. i am looking for one of a mama making the laborland/birthing face, long and horizontal like what the photo already is.
in stockphotoland, that doesn't exist. there were several of a mom getting an epidural inserted though ...
