So I realized today that not too long after posting that long awesome post about how Stephen puts the kids to bed on a regular basis, Alli has gone to bed with me pretty much every night. I have definitely said "You do it" to him and he has never refused, but at least four times that I can think of, he has come back out with her still awake and ( Read more... )

that is amazing and i'm totally doing it. i hope she doesn't just rip the hair out and eat it though :-(

he ended up coming out at 10:15 fed up and frustrated. he snapped at me for something stupid (i was upset for a bit but let it go before talking to him again)

i brought her into the bedroom to nurse but she couldn't because she'd been crying so long (plus the teething) her nose was all snotty and stuffed up. so i came out again (after he was in the bathroom) gave her some gripe water and layed down with her. we did not nurse, but i let her have my hair and she was asleep by 10:35. she was fairly gentle too. :-)

PS: kids museum, yay! be forewarned, ben likes to have a snack like the moment we get there. it's kind of a ritual for him. :-)

Melanie has been obsessed with my hair since she was a baby. She always played with my hair while nursing and for a while, was in a phase where she would always stick her foot in my hair (while nursing). She still likes to play with my hair while going to sleep and she's freaking three. Also, sometimes she'll be playing elsewhere, stop and come over to me and just touch my hair a few times, then go back to playing.

alli has done the foot thing too. we really made some strides today in the bath she touched my hair nicely (like petting a cat) when i said "gentle" instead of still yanking and twisting and ripping it out.

i would not mind at all if she was nice to it. ironically, the whole reason i wanted a girl was so that i could spend time brushing her hair and putting it up and making it pretty because i LOVE to play with hair :-)
