It's good to be golden

It's hard to believe my birthday isn't even HERE yet. My dad and step-mom took me out for Thai food two weeks ago. They also got me a card, a cake and a stuffed penguin. If you remember the drama from last year, you know how pleased I am that they were early :-) It also meant a lot to me that they came to visit us, even if they couldn't really come ( Read more... )

What?! How can that even be possible!! I can understand how you will feel a little let down because I will not be able to attend the party, but there will be singing and cake, right! It's going to be great! I wish I could come instead of pack and move all my crap.

I am indeed fond of cake and singing (though i'm not sure there will be singing, but maybe there will) and am indeed sad that you can't come. but you aren't the only one who can't come. so i'm worried there will be not very many people there and the people who are coming will be an eclectic mix who won't know what to say to each other.

yes. i am a worrier. that's what i do.

A good purse is so worth the money. I have only one purse I carry around. It's pink and doesn't go with much of anything but it's the best purse ever so I don't care.

Your MIL sounds really awesome!

Also, I think I will be able to be there on Friday. The kids won't be coming because they have a school party to attend, but Miah says I can escape and run away for a few hours. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

She is really really really awesome. Drives me batty occasionally, just like every good MIL should (all things that drive my husband batty too, so at least there aren't any arguments about it) but she is so sweet and thoughtful. We all love her to death. YAY for golden birthday attendance. That means you'll be able to see my purse and the photo collage and all the other stuff. (Today's present was a nice-smelling candle!)

I'm sad not to meet your kids though :-(

Maybe another time.

I considered just disregarding the school party but my 6 year old is threatening anarchy and if HE goes, Alex will call brimstone down upon my head if he doesn't get to go. So Miah is taking them to it. But we'll definitely have to get all the kids together.

oh man, cheap chocolate is all waxy and milky and sugary and grosso! not that i won't ever eat a crunch or kitkat if i'm in a pinch but real chocolate is SOOO good. i usually get lindt 85 percent because its so bitter that the rest of my family stays out of it :-)

i'm also a milk snob (whole orgnic, brand particular ... horizon is only OK, safeway brand kinda sucks) and an apple snob. (OMG honeycrisp season is HERE!!!!!!!!)
