That is wonderful. A very nice father's day present for your husband, too.

yeah, he's already read it though. i took it home in rough draft form for his opinion on a few things (his thoughts: "you're the only one in the world that would be upset about chocolate milk for a 14-month-old!") ha ha. seriously though, he really liked it. you could see him blush a little. it was totally cute.

I would be upset about a whole bottle of chocolate milk, too. :-) Rosemary is only 13.5 months ... but I don't think much in the next two weeks. I haven't even given her juice yet.

This was so powerful and AWESOME! Good for you :)

I just had to add that the reason I picked Taylor is because I knew he'd be an awesome father! I was only 15 when I picked him...and lucky for me, he was interested in me too. There have been plenty of times that I would have called it quits with Taylor throughout the 10 years we have been together, but I was KNEW I was meant to have his babies <3

wow 15! i thought we were impressive with 17 and 18, respectively. have you been together the whole entire time, no breakups? that's what impresses people about us the most. not that i was 17, but that we've never broken up ...

Yes, we have been together the whole time. I had 1 boyfriend prior to Taylor and I really did love him, but then I saw Taylor and that was that! When we were 21 and living together, I did have a very selfish period where I realized I was 21 and (technically) SINGLE and I went out and had a good time with one of my girlfriends...drinking and dancing and I will admit a few kisses with strangers here and there, but I was completely honest with Taylor and he stood by me through it all! I would never ever dream of kissing another guy again, but it was good that I did it, got it out of my system and realize how great I had it at home....We are not married, and have no plans to marry - but I think we are far more committed to each other than a lot of the married couples we do know...

tee hee!

you guys are great for my ego. the nice thing is no one is ever like, "that was lame." if it's lame, y'all just don't say anything at all and i get the message.

who could ask for better friends than that?

Good column! jerhogg June 14 2007, 21:16:17 UTC
My wife told me this entry ended up as a column in the paper. As I was reading through it, I thought that it should go in the paper because I think it's the best piece you're written. I especially liked the ending. Good job!

thank you! you're not the first one to say so, either, so i guess it must be true. :-)

oh and FYI, anything tagged "mama talk" is a column for the paper. i write them for work first and repost them here. (mostly because i like getting feedback.) sometimes if the comments come fast enough and they point out something i hadn't seen before, i will even change it before it prints.
