Yes, it's supposed to be 'hear hear'. It's a contraction of 'hear him, hear him' apparently, from the House of Commons at Westminster:

You learn something new everyday! (I did, anyway).

And yes, it's 'without further ado'. Adieu is French for goodbye (farewell). I've not actually heard/seen that one, but I see 'could care less' a lot and it really gets my goat...It's *couldn't* care less. It makes no sense otherwise!

But I hope you feel better soon *germ-free hugs*

Thanks, Mrs Seren! I'm doing better now. I think "could care less" is still my biggest peeve. I hear it a lot (rather than just read it on the Internet).

That's probably it. Just so weird though, wouldn't "adieu" look weird to the average English-speaker? They're making it too complicated.

Haha! That's pretty funny. See, if you're going to screw up your grammar then at least do it hilariously.

Another that annoys, and here I could be in the wrong: Redux and redo. I had an editor who thought they were interchangeable and pronounced the same.

I've never seen that, but then I never had editors. ;) I don't know how to pronounce redux. Another French thing?
