Can anyone adequately explain to me why LiveJournal just asked me whether I was fourteen years of age or older before it would display this page to me? What am I missing here?
Well, obviously you need to be protected from pictures of flying lions.
Also I think my journal is rated as having "adult concepts" (as opposed to explicit adult concepts and no adult content), so I think that makes it unsafe for people under 14. Maybe I should go change that.
It's *possible* that you have your journal set to filtering out any possibly adult material. You can check your settings near the bottom of the page here: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/
Ah, I was a bit slow to grasp the new LiveJournal rating procedures. I am glad I found out about them now, however. I was able to set my own journal settings to mark it as potentially containing adult concepts before the LiveJournal police came and locked me up or whatever it is they are doing with transgressors.
I recognize that painting immediately: It's by Micheal Whelan, my favorite fantasy artist. He's done the covers to a lot of fantasy/sci fi novels (the original covers on most of the Pern series for example). I had his calendars for a while but now he's not putting any out. I think I'll do this just to see if I get another Whelan!
Awesome! Yeah I had to go back to the beginning of the quiz to find out who the artist was. :) I looked at all the other quiz results and his art is just amazing.
