His walking is just a bit more hesitant, even if he's trying to seem ever-confident, and he has an unusually defiant/stubborn look on his face. If you're observant, you might also notice that he's not looking at

[All he knows is, something just ran into him, but he doesn't think it's hard enough to be considered an attack. So he's turning to face their general direction, backing off a bit, warily.]

[Still frozen. Still doesn't know who's there, since he can't see or hear them.]

[Wes is pissed. Partially at himself, because really, how hard is it to keep an eye on a blind, deaf, weaker-than-normal souled vampire? But he'll beat himself up later. Right now he's pissed at Angel, because Angel went OUT in this state. And he's walking quickly through the woods, looking everywhere, trying to follow Angel's trail.

He decides he misses cellphones. He wishes he could call Buffy or Faith, because Angel might actually listen to one of them. The most he can hope to do is keep the big guy out of trouble.

So when he finds Angel, instead of coming up to him and attempting to talk him out of his idiocy, he's doing the tailing thing. He won't get close enough to interrupt any of Angel's run-ins with other locals, but if something, or someone, tries to take advantage of the vampire, they'll have Wes to deal with.]

[Fred is wide awake in the middle of the night (she gets like that sometimes) and spots Angel outside her window. Grinning, she calls to him.] Angel!

[Fred is a little confused by this, but she's not about to drop it. She hasn't seen Angel much lately. So she's climbing out her window (a bit clumsily, but she doesn't fall) and jogging to catch up to him, all the while glancing around nervously. Uh oh, the outside world. She tries again when she gets close to him.] Angel.

Sorry for being so unresponsive, Angel-wise. He'll respond when he knows she's there.

[Coming home to an Angel-free house was not exactly the highlight of Buffy's day. Wracked with guilt and worry, she's on her own version of a patrol. She's out looking for him, trying to be as thorough as possible.]

[Being terrified of finding the vampire lost in some obscure quarter, it takes Buffy longer to cover less ground; however, she does eventually catch sight of him in the night and soon thereafter come the vampire-in-proximity chills.

Angel-san? [Gently touches his arm, frowning. He does not look like he should be walking around at all.]
