I thought they were going to try and deal with the infestation by making the blue caps themselves into pies! Mind you, they may not taste so good and they would have to be caught first which would be quite a feat. Excuse my weird thought patterns, I am constantly highlighting my ignorance.
All in all you've produced some good work, you shouldn't be ashamed of this at all.
Well, considering how bluecaps take the form of little blue flames - which makes them a bit like those soot spirits from Spirited away actually - they probably would taste a touch on the burny side.

Thanks for providing some explanation - I went back and reread the piece after and really 'got' it! And now I've learnt some more fairy folklore, too, which is always useful!
I shall probably have to go back and expand on this 'verse a bit at some point - I love fairies and folk lore and sometimes it's nice to write something a little bit silly - since there is obviously plenty more stories that can be told in it.
