I have a book! On top of that I've also been given some money so I can get another book later, so I'm as happy as a clam right now. Of course I'm not allowed to actually read the book until tomorrow since my mother is convinced I'll finish the whole thing before we even leave tomorrow, thereby negating the whole purpose for my buying it in the

Sounds like an interesting concept for a book- GPSes are a bit creepy actually.
I hope it keeps you occupied for the entire drive there.

I snuck a peak at the first few pages and, really, it's just the sort of thing that I enjoy: fantasy and humor all rolled into one neat little package.

Now the trouble comes in finding more of his books. I get the feeling that this guy is fairly obscure around these parts - hardly a surprise, really. It seems that all bookstores are really interested in these days are cheesy teeny-bopper paranormal romances. Ick!

I occasionally visit Exclusive Books and find myself ignoring the young adults section altogether.
I go for the children's/ teens' swashbuckling fantasy adventure books. My poor underdeveloped mind can't process the really epic stuff in the adult section for too long.

I actually got this book from a Woodsworth Books, which actually had a much larger fantasy and sci-fi section (as well as a frighteningly large paranormal section that I suspect was composed mostly of suspiciously bodice-ripperseque type books) and I was even tempted by some of the more traditional fantasies.

Unfortunately they were mostly from series/trilogies, and were either book two or three.
