I'm flying down tomorrow and returning tomorrow night. I've made that trip driving and there's no way in hell I'd do it again. It's a longer drive (by two hours) than going to Savannah?!
Some advice: when you land an interview, have the time set almost a week ahead of time and go to www.cheaptickets.com to get a great price, if possible. If the trip is made just two or three days in advance you might not get such a great price. You can also try www.sidestep.com as well. I got my roundtrip ticket to San Diego for SIGGRAPH for $222.
Well, I know it's taken me a while to say something. Actually, I've been distracted and a bit under the weather since I returned from the interview. I think the air on the planes gave me a sinus infection, yee haw.
The interview went well, I was shown around and the two senior artists there were definitely talkers. I could barely get a word in edgewise! lol! They introduced me to most everyone and then sat me down with the owner/investor of the company. He was a talker too, and it was tricky trying to get a word in as well, lol! They were all nice and enthusiastic. The owner and I spoke numbers...yes, I was a little surprised that was so soon, but all in all the whole thing went great!
I will hear back Monday if I made the cut or not. Wish me luck!
