Welcome to the Holiday!Bang 2008 Sign-Ups
...but first, we need to take care of a few housekeeping stuff. You guys must be tired of my super long posts, but please, bear with me once more for a little bit ;).

General Rules

1. You must friend or watch the comm before signing up. We often post important announcements, information, and resources throughout the duration of the fest, so it is imperative that you watch the comm for updates.
2. Each fic must be at least 1500 words in length. There is no maximum word count cap - in fact, in our last round, we had quite a few fics surpassing the 10000 word mark!
3. Each fic must be beta read at least once, and should be free of any major spelling, grammar, and syntax issues. We will be making a beta reader sign up post in a couple of weeks, so if you are in need of a beta reader, check back then.
4. Your fic should not be a part of a previously written series or a sequel. It must stand alone.
5. Since this is an anonymous fic challenge, please do not post your fic anywhere (including your own journal) until after the final reveal has been made.
6. Although fans and writers of all ages are encouraged to sign up, no one under the age of 18 is allowed to write NC-17 work.
7. You may not change or switch prompts after you have submitted the sign-up form. Also, signing up for the challenge is a commitment. Please do not claim a prompt, unless you are serious about participating in the challenge.

Important Dates

• Prompt claiming will start on September 10 and end on November 01 or when the prompts run out (whichever comes first).
• Submissions will be due on November 07 for first time participants and November 14 for second timers.
• Posting will begin anonymously by the mods on December 1.

Sign-Up Procedures

• If you haven't already done so, please peruse through the prompts here:
  
  • Prompts 001 to 050
  • Prompts 051 to 100
  • Prompts 101 to 150
  • Prompts 151 to 156
• Take note of the your first choice's prompt number, as you will need it in hand when signing up. Along with your first choice, you need to give us two alternate prompt choices, just in case your original choice has already been claimed.
• We will email you back to confirm your prompt choice within 24 hours. If you do not hear back from us, please check your junk mail first, and then email us at mods@thestopwatch.org.
• Again, prompt claiming is done on a first come, first served basis, and each prompt may only claimed once.
• You may only claim one prompt at a time. You may choose to claim another prompt once you have submitted your first fic to the mods.
