While I cannot account for the suit, not that there's anything wrong with a suit I can confirm the memory loss is "normal."

All of the new arrivals, yes. You can gain them back, although it seems to be somewhat randomly or in ridiculous and often embarrassing situations the island comes up with on a whim. Really I should just make a guidebook at this point.

If you're in the woods, you shouldn't be too far from town- it's where everyone seems to show up. I would advise against antagonizing any bears you come across however.
