Dunno, Skipper. Pretty sure you're the one who's about to lose your boots. [Ashley passes over two cards and grabs two new ones, assuming they're... playing (strip?) poker.]
[Miranda is sitting to the side with a glass of wine. She's still adjusting to the new Normandy and their lack of financing, but it's starting to feel a little more like home. Of course, she wasn't keen on the idea of a holiday party. There was a war on the horizon; such an event seemed foolish.
She'd join the rest of the group but she's come to realize she doesn't really have a place among them. She spent so much time being the Illusive Man's liaison she didn't put much thought into making friends. The mission came first. And because her physiology makes it difficult to get and maintain a good buzz, she's in a sour mood.]
[Lily offers the other woman a smile as she walks over to her. For the size of the ship they both lived in, it seems strange that she hasn't bumped into the other more often, but then - what with being drafted and organising the transfer of the Caterpillar Alliance's leadership, she's been busy] Long day?
[She looks up as Lily approaches. It still seemed weird to see new faces among their crew. Although, it's almost like she's the new one now. She's kept mostly to herself but has made sure to take note of everyone aboard. There is still much she would like to learn about this girl. She takes this as an opportunity to procure the information.]
Not so much long as not my cup of tea. I've never been big on parties. Being genetically modified makes it difficult to get in the right...mindset these situations tend to call for.
[Lily tilts her head curiously, taking a seat nearby. The drink in her hands is fruit fizz, strictly non-alcoholic] Genetically modified?
Ah, it's been well enough. I've been rushed off my feet a tad lately, preparing for the draft and managing my business deals. It's nice to have some time to relax.
[Thane's going to stand quietly at the edge of the room, because he is boring wall flower and also he's enjoying simply watching the festivities unfold. He's also going to be curiously regarding a fruitcake. Who in their right mind brought a fruitcake to this space party? Thane wasn't even sure what this thing was, it looked rather unappetizing.
[Shepard isn't even sure who brought that thing. Maybe they should save it, use it as a weapon against Revan or the Reapers.] You know, it's not really a party. You don't have to stand against the wall.
[Thane gives her a vaguely amused look, though it's a bit hard to tell because of frog face] If you would prefer I can stand in a more central location.
[And he nods as Garrus approaches.] I believe Shepard was critiquing my tactical positioning.

[A tall space raptor wanders over, glancing behind Thane and Shepard at the wall nearby.] Something interesting about this corner I should know about?
