With the Senator having returned, Lindsey had been working at transitioning everything back to the way it had been. In some ways he was glad he had less of a workload. But there was that ever-present discontent at having to hand back power now that he'd had a taste of it.
So, he wasn't really in the mood for interruptions when the knock came. It was probably Jessica, reminding him about lunch.
"I know, I know. I'll grab something to eat in an hour." Which he'd already said about an hour ago. He didn't look up from his desk. "You cancel the two o'clock?"
"Oh, yeah. Right." He put his stylus down and ran his hand through his hair for a sec, resisting the urge to pour himself a stiff drink. "Good, good." He finally looked up at her and then raised a bemused brow. "What's up, then? If it's about that email you sent to the wrong ambassador, I already smoothed it over. It wasn't that big of a deal..."
"I know. I mean, I was real grateful for that and all, but that ain't why I'm here either." She supposed she shouldn't draw it out any longer than she already had.
So she pulled out the guitar from behind her, holding it out to him. "I was finally able to find one."

At his question, she nodded. "I did. I told 'em they'd have to reschedule for another day just like you told me to."
And then after another moment she couldn't contain herself anymore. "Actually, I ain't here to remind you 'bout your lunch at all."
