[ People start filing in and mingling and there is beer had and mingling done. Meanwhile, Buffy is frantically pulling people into the kitchen to help her because she's serious about this being perfect. She's also yelling at people who try and fuck with the decorations. But, hey, get comfy. :) ]

[ Buffy is mostly disappeared in the kitchen, finishing up dinner, but she occasionally pops out to check on people arriving and hassle them. She pops out after a particularly long stint in the kitchen, head peeking out the swinging door between it and the bar. ]

Did anyone remember to bring rolls?

[breakmychest]

Don't forget to breathe, love. [Spike goes over to the kitchen door and holds out a glass of a dark red liquid. Don't give me that look, it's wine, not blood.] Here. It'll help.

[ She takes the glass from him but keeps herself in the doorway to keep him out of the kitchen. She doesn't even get a sip of wine before she counters. ] You can help by getting rolls. I don't think Dean remembered to get any and it's not gonna be right if we don't have them.

[ It comes out perfect because you get LifeDayzilla for a host. It's all stuff that vaguely resembles what would be had for Christmas dinner, but, you know. Alien. Mashed potatoes that are a weird color, dead birds that have been baked, etc. etc. ]

[And it pretty much goes without saying that Riley has given some serious thought to eloping when(/if...) the time comes to actually tie the knot with Buffy. Then again, part of him finds her eventual bridezilla life pretty endearing. He loves her okay]

Everything looks great.

[ And then Tifa's snow queen heart was melted that day because that was the cutest tag in the universe. Buffy slides her hand over the table to squeeze Riley's hand with a grateful smile, because he's probably had to do more than his share of facing the dragon lady that she has been today. And he's taken it like a champ. Which is why she loves him. Which just ... sounds like pegging, but whatever, there is a reason it's her one interest. ]

I'm glad. I mean, I know it's not exactly Iowa with the folks, or anything but -- [ She pulls her hand back, putting both in her lap and shrugging. ] Gotta do what we can.

[initiative]

It's perfect, Buffy.

[Brb, stealing a glance at those blue mashed potatoes or ... blue mashed potato-like substance, then back to Buffy]

Well, almost perfect.

[ People are pretty much drunk by this point because it's necessary to get through dinner without things flying across the room. But someone's wig is bound to fall off and someone else is gonna start a fight. Yep. ]

[No one let Andrew have any alcohol. This is a good thing. It does, however, make him the Buzz Killington of this party.]

So... Does anyone have Pictionary? Or... Or we could have a rousing game of Yahtzee.
