"Oooh! Ooooh! The scaled one!" It's a rather happy cry at seeing a familiar face. "Your... what's your name... the Madame... the....... the........ Oooooooh...."

Vastra blinked and bristled slightly at being referred to a 'scaled one' as she turned with a fixed glare at the unfamilar woman. She did however raise an eyebrow at the use of 'Madame' in the lady's confusion. And despite the face being unknown there was something about the eyes which had her deductive powers tuned to the fact that she might know who this was.

She rose from her barstool to face her, cautious but polite. "Have we met before, Madame? I do not recall your face but.... It is Vastra. Madame Vastra of the London Silurian Triad." She suddenly remembered her surroundings and started slightly. "Are... are you from the same universe as myself? Can you explain what has happened here?" This strange woman might prove ideal as an initial contact.

Vastra nodded a little irritated, half-expecting the woman might have known more. "Well, I did gather that much myself.... and please, call me 'Vastra', miss...?"

Jack happened to be in this cantina tonight. His nightly Pazaak game was earning him a fair amount of credits now and he was starting to get the hang of Sabacc as well. Though he was still playing sparingly as most of his money was being made through his connections as a man who can get things done... when he wasn't prostituting himself on the side

The familar voice first surprised her, but Vastra turned to see that it was indeed Captain Jack Harkness, that lovable rogue she'd known for many years from Torchwood circles. Much as she detested that loathsome organisation with its anti-alien agenda and despite its support from her majesty, Jack was at least one of its more pleasant members, and for an ape more than a little attractive. Back home she saw less of him than she liked to given his ties to Cardiff, but whenever he needed a problem of mental capability or some alien rouge had fled into Londontown he was able to let her know, aware of the fact that she relished the exercise. Of course she knew of his ties to her friend the Doctor, and the Time Lord himself had told her that the situation surrounding his waiting and immortality would be resolved in some far-fling future date

Jack smiled and hugged her back. It had been far too long. "There's actually quite a few people I recognize here. It's almost as though Revan is targeting the Doctor and anyone who's come in contact with him in some way." The Captain had been wondering why none of Torchwood has shown up and finally came to the conclusion that it must be centred around the Doctor.

"Oh Jenny! I'd forgotten about her, how is she? You two still partners?" Jack grinned. He slightly regretted not managing to ever get the two of them in his bed at the same time
