Xander had been confined to the apartment since the Mynock incident. Buffy had told him only hours before Anya was missing. He felt useless and powerless. He needed to be out there. He needed to be searching for her. They may not have been together, but they would always be in each other's lives. A thousand things raced through his mind. Who would attack Anya? Who would kidnap anyone from a sex shop? It didn't make any sense.

Finally, his worrying was interrupted when he fell asleep, the worries continuing over in his dreams.

Hearing the front door slide open, he woke up, having not been sound asleep.

"Did you find -"

He looked up, eyes wide.

"Anya."

Moving his Datapad, Xander slowly got off of the couch, wincing from pain before leaning on the arm rest of the couch, Slowly, he moved towards her.

No, of course Xander was there. And injured. Anya's heart twinged the way it always did when Xander was hurt. She supposed it always would. Love was inconvenient like that. Luckily, she was pretty distracted by her own internal trauma.

"Xander." She tried to force a smile. It didn't come out well. "I think I missed Black Friday."

He frowned.

"What happened? Did Buffy find you? Are you all right?"

"No. I spent the last week dead." She pushed past him. "No one rescued me. No one even tried." From her perspective, at least. If they had been trying, it hadn't worked very well. "I'm going to take a shower."
