So sorry, my week got super busy! dinos4breakfast December 10 2011, 02:03:17 UTC
Jack was too busy concentrating on getting cover and focusing on their bipedal visitors to notice anything else at first. With one gun drawn, he knelt behind a wall of the shanty and aimed in the direction of the talking. By this point his arm was starting to seize from the damage to it, so he folded it and held it close to his chest ( ... )

Luke's face set as the first shots were fired; he was wide-eyed and alert, but calm enough. He went the other way, ducking around behind the same shack, but the opposite corner.

He glanced over to Luke, mostly checking to see if the kid was still with him and was both relieved and worried to find that he was. Relieved that he hadn't been hit by a stray blast, and worried both that he would have to protect him and by the look on his face ( ... )

The hive rats weren't quite as tall as Luke, but considerably longer, broader, and more massive. Half again as big as the womp rats he was used to, and if anything they were meaner-looking, with lumps and fatty shoulder humps and tiny glaring eyes, and those single jutting tusks. Right now it looked like they were more interested in the gang members, but Luke really didn't expect that they'd be able to tell who was and wasn't with that group ( ... )
