[ the subs themselves are relatively tiny, but the bonus is that they only require a crew of one to operate, so the waiting and seating area of the ship are separate from the cockpit entirely and is more or less set up like a first class airplane cabin. get cozy and chatt, it's a long ride. ]

[Spike sprawls in his seat, idly watching the fish go by through the transparasteel window. He has decided for certain now. He likes spaceships better than submarines. But this isn't so bad. Nice view.]

How deep are we, anyhow?

Pretty deep but we have to go deeper.

Deep enough for this to be the neatest thing I've ever seen and -- ooh! Oooh, did you see that fish? [ she's sitting up on her knees in her seat now, palms and nose pressed to the window. she turns her head around to face them and points out it, fingers tapping on the window excitedly.

Look, I can vouch for her badassery. Just ... not at this particular moment. And oh, that one looks like a shark!

[ Following suit. ]

If you throw up, it'd better not be on me. [ ... what? it sounded like it could vaguely result in sea sickness. ] Anyway. I can't be a fear-striking machine 24/7. It's exhausting. Also, scary. And -- ooh! I think that one's glowing!

[Spike goes over and peers over her shoulder to see what she's looking at.]

You have a glowing fish. Not as big as that one, but he's certainly... shiny enough.

[glances back at his brother]

But it's also nice to have a little variety every once in a while, Dean.

[but that's definitely him perking up and trying to move to see the glowing fish]

[Just rolling his eyes over here] It's like none of you have ever seen the Discovery Channel.

[Jo's been sitting in her seat, quiet and reading through various shit on her datapad. She's been trying to ignore everyone, and has to constantly glare up over her device at everyone freaking out over fish. She huffs and slouches down further in her seat.

That is, until she actually catches sight of the glowing fish. And with that, she sets her datapad aside and crosses her arms over her chest, and just watches. Slowly, a smile tugs up at the right corner of her mouth.]

Don't act like you ever sit there and watch anything educational, Dean.

[ That remark from Spike gets a smiles and a Look out of the corner of her eyes, the first real glance away from the window that she gives, but then she's back to paying attention to the fish. She knows exactly why Spike felt the need to point that out, and she can't help but be amused. Slowly, she moves back into her seat and looks to Jo. ]

When we get back, I'll show you the one I got from the fair. Different brand of glowy, but still makes for a very cool nightlight. [ She looks around, shrinking in her chair a little. ] Not that I ... need a nightlight.
