Erik dismantled his own droid a few weeks after arriving here, finding it useful for one purpose -- practicing fine tuning his ability. In the end it resulted in a loose screw here and there before the entire thing came undone. he had been meaning to repair it, possibly to suit his own interests though there were other pressing matters to attend to.

Such as Charles knocking on his door only a while later. If there was one benefit to remaining here, it was that the construction of nearly everything in the building was metal, lending itself easily to Erik. He gave a slight snap of his fingers, sliding the door open to face Charles. "You've taken your time."

"Trust me, you're glad I showered before coming over," Charles returned without heat or even concern for Erik's sharp comment.

Stepping through the door, he let his friend take care of closing it as he set the brandy bottle on the counter and then made his way over to the couch. Slowly lowering himself onto the fairly comfortable surface, Charles let out a noise of appreciation for sitting on something that wasn't a hard backed library chair.

"Am I, Charles?" He moved to close it before following Charles in, taking note of the bottle. Erik breathed a sigh of amusement as Charles took his leisure settling into the couch before moving towards the kitchen for a pair of tumblers. "You've been in the library for days and all you have to show for it is a long winded history project," Erik responded, glasses and bottle in hand as he sat down next to him.

He leaned forward, snapping the cap off with ease and pouring the drinks, moving to offer one to the other man.

Someone may be feeling a little princeling at the moment, he'll try not to let it get too out of hand. Reaching to take the glass from his friend with a softly murmured thanks, Charles leaned back on the couch and watched Erik from beneath hooded eyes.

"Not all, Erik," he corrects without raising to the bait. "I have a broader understanding of where this Revan originally came from. What motivated him at one time and how this Republic has gotten itself into such a mess."

Swirling his brandy in his glass, he allowed his concern to draw his brows together, letting go of the strict control he'd held over himself when talking to others. With Erik, he could relax those guarded mannerisms.

"What the Galactic Senate did, how they allowed Cathar to be sacrificed; an entire planet, Erik and they did nothing."
