[Anakin, a single stride ahead of his brother, wasn't as calm and collected as his projections let on. Beneath it all his mind was racing, thinking of every possible thing it could. But one thought was clearer than all the others.]

I'm not ready for this...

[Anakin knew it. Jacen knew it and the Council knew it. That much was clear.]

Is this how uncle Luke feels?

[He looks at his hands, pulling the Force to make sure they're not shaking before tightening them into fists and hardening his resolve. He whips off the ceremonial Jedi robe he had worn to the audience and throws into a waste bin.]

They're afraid we'll be the next Revan and Malak. That's the only reason they're allowing us to secede.

[It wasn't a thought that hadn't crossed Jacen's mind already. In fact, he'd rather counted on it to help smooth the transition, which probably wasn't the most delicate way of going about things but prevented them from making this more difficult than it needed to be] They'll keep a close eye on us, for that reason, but it isn't as if we intend to take any actions that will be able to justify their suspicions. [The more he learned about Revan, the more certain he became that following in his footsteps to learn how he had traveled down the path he had was the best way to stop him. Isolde's fears were grounded in the sort of traditionalism that made it impossible to work with this ancient Council, so he couldn't rely on her opinion.

He could tell Tenel Ka, or Anakin, or Jaina, or Zekk, but...

He didn't want to burden them with his. He'd burdened Anakin with enough]

[Pardon hims while he scoffs.]

As if Revan and Malak intended to turn to the Dark Side. We can't trust the Order. Period. Our teachings are so radically different from theirs they're going to be able to justify whatever they want. [Sigh] We need to be careful and keep a close eye on them as well.

That'd be simpler if we had a contact remaining in their Order, of course. [He says it casually, but he's already been wondering about... something like this] Someone who didn't profess a desire to break with the Order of this time. Who felt comfortable with them. ['Someone we trust' was unspoken but clear in his tone]
