[ Teacher would be putting it interestingly, he mused as he watched Claire arriving. He had never been one for that title, leaving the educational part up to Charles back home. A hands on approach was more his style. ]

I'm surprised your father let you out.

What he doesn't know won't hurt him. [She gives him a look that says she knows she's very very lucky, and then shrugs.] Besides, he had work to go do.

[She doesn't need to say how much trouble she can get into by being here, she figures that goes unspoken. To lighten the tense mood she had just set, she offers him a smile.]

Thanks again for doing this.

Huh. [ Family relationships were still a sore spot for him, though Erik can tell hers aren't exactly the kind he'd encourage, reminiscence on, even. He doesn't press matters further though, not now when it was evident Erik was a distraction, though he does raise an eyebrow at her words.

When he speaks up, it's dry. ] In the event your father goes looking for someone to blame, he can certainly point fingers at me. [ It's not like they got along well either their first meeting. He returned the smile briefly, suggesting things would be fine for now. ]

Before we begin, you should know I'm not much of a talk and explain kind of man.

[She shrugs.] I learn better hands on anyway. There may be some things you have to explain, but I'll try to keep the questions to a minimum.

[Which is a difficult thing to do, given that she's a very curious person. She looks around, and starts to ask how he wants to do things, but realizes it's a question. So she clamps her mouth shut and glances up at him, eyebrows arched in a silent question.]

Dante is waiting as agreed at the meeting place, standing leaning against a wall with a casual air; almost as if half-asleep. He looks up as Claire approaches and offers a small smile. The blush is duly noted and brings back the memory of said unintentional joke--he admits, it's still funny, but he'll be a gentleman and not tease her about it. Not now anyway.

"No problem. We'll call it working on my good karma -helping out pretty young girls in the game of survival." He pushes off the wall and goes to meet her, "Did you bring the lightsabre? Heh, I guess it sounds odd.. but I'm not familiar enough with 'em without trying it out to be able to give you any good advice."

Yeah, because offering advice on a weapon you're not trained on is totally believable. But this is Dante and in some areas his ego really does have foundation for it's ridiculously large size.

She nods, taking the lightsaber off her belt to hold up. She doesn't hand it over to him, but instead activates it, and with a buzzing sound the green laser blade emerges. The blade is too long for her height, clearly the weapon wasn't made for her. It belongs to someone else, but she already informed him of that, so she doesn't remind him. She steps back and takes a few practice swings, before holding the weapon out for him to take.

"Don't break it."

Dante watches with calm fascination as she takes the weapon from her hip and activates it. The length is duly noted, and it's not so much an issue as something to learn how to work with. Absently, he wonders how many colours these things come in and who the previous owner was ( ... )

She watches him with interest, amused at how easy it is for him to just pick up a lightsaber and go. She supposes that if he has a real sword, a lightsaber is nothing, except a few extra added safety concerns. As he finishes and smiles, she lets out a laugh, and slowly claps her hands together.

"They're pretty amazing. It's too bad not everyone can get one." She doesn't make a move to try and take it back, just watches him with curiosity.

"Do you think it's something you can train me to use properly, or is it not really your kind of thing?" Clearly, he knows what he's doing and how to get around with a blade. She needs his help, but she can't let herself seem that desperate to get it. With this guy, being casual seems to be the way to go. He seems more like a guy that runs as soon as emotions get involved.
