[He's getting a little worried about you, Shepard.

He would tell you so, if you had remembered a comm link before running off to dance suicidal with the darkspawn. As it is, he's just going to be a big stealthy raptor batman and follow you from the high ground.

He debates stepping in, mostly because if Shepard went out alone, he figures there's some reasoning behind it and he shouldn't really argue with everything. Except that... well, he's worried. A lot has happened lately and he's not sure she's dealing with it very well.

So he hangs back during the skirmishes with the human scum of the lower city, knowing she can handle herself, wondering if all she needs is a release for her stress. But when she keeps going, deeper and deeper, and when that first darkspawn rushes out of the shadows--

Garrus doesn't even think. His rifle comes free and he takes out two more deadly archers who were setting up behind her, planting swift and deadly new holes in their skulls.]

[Logically, rationally, Shepard knows exactly who it is that's watching her back down here. Even if she's come on her own, she should have known one of them was going to follow, and more to the point, she should have known that it would be Garrus.

But Shepard isn't trying to think logically. She's acting on her gut, letting her raw need act for her, and it's stupid. It's going to make her stupid. She doesn't care. Her gun is out before she can think about it, and she fires a shot off in his direction. A warning. The bolt pelts off to his right, not even close enough to worry about.

And then she turns her blaster on the two darkspawn he's felled and shoots them again. Hers. They're hers. She doesn't need his help. She just wants to work this out on her own.]

[He briefly misses not having brought concussive rounds along with him. Not that he would actually shoot at his Commander-- well, maybe he had once, and he was still reeling that she hadn't facepunched him for it-- but it would've been nice to have around. You know, as an option.

He's a bit less shocked at her shooting at him than he should be. At this point, it's almost how they say hello. So he makes sure the area around her is clear before he holsters his rifle and swings down to meet her. His stealth has been ruined anyway, and he sort've wants to know what the hell she's doing down here, and he's just going to take the risk that she's not going to shoot at him again. Point-blank, this time.] Shepard?

Garrus. [She doesn't shoot him. There isn't even a desire to shoot. At least, not towards him. That would just be a waste of blaster bolts, and there are more darkspawn out here somewhere. Still, the gun is pointed at the turian as he comes down to meet up with her.] That wasn't exactly an invite, you realize.
