[Even though he was lacking his powers, Sylar had a few innate skills -- he was clever, observant, and sneaky. Roughly in that order. And he had been stuffing his face in the dining area when he heard footsteps. They didn't match the ones he was accustomed to hearing around the ship, and they sounded angry as hell.

Being the cat who lost his claws in a tragic heartbreaking accident he was, he knew when to bail. He left his food on the counter and started some quiet slinking through the halls himself, ultimately aiming to make it down into the engine room. Even if he did spend most of his time being a lazy bitch around there instead of "fixing" anything, he knew the layout better than he did most of the rooms in the Enterprise. And, therefore, the best hiding places.]

[ The engine room was the last place he looked -- which meant by the time he got there, he'd done enough of a process of elimination that he figured to blow the door to it open dramatically with telekinesis and stepped through. He immediately fixed a glare on Sylar, who he could see around one large piece of engine. ]

[He stood his ground. He sure as fuck wasn't getting any closer to Peter, but he wasn't backing away, either.They could have this conversation over this giant piece of engine. ]
