Jewelcrafting is awesome. :) It's kept me in interesting jewellery for a long time.
There are a few jewellery things you can make with iron, but I did end up selling most of the ore. I recommend buying a mining sack if you haven't already - the mining supplies NPC near the trainer should have one.
