Considering the large number of mothers who threaten their children with "be good or Ian will eat you" I'd probably aquit myself quite well. The problem is that 5 year olds are like the Learnean Hydra, chop one down another two spring into being.
And whilst you do get good results using an unconscious one as a club, you have to keep replacing it when it gets mushy. A nice firm one, wielded with considerable velocity is the go.
Actually, when particularly stressed and overworked, I have been known to refer to myself by the name of a popular "quasiautonomous polymorphous playroom child-minding and assassination device," usually with the same big inane smile that the character/device has. I've yet to learn how to grow a second head, though...

You have me intrigued now. What is this "quasiautonomous polymorphous playroom child-minding and assassination device" of which you speak. At first I thought you meant Elmo, my own personal nemesis, but he doesn't have two head.
