If they're talking raw poundage, that's unfair to everyone. It should be percentage-based to equalize the field.

That said, loading up on water for the weigh-in will only make your initial losses suspect. These people are too dramatic for that.

We're using percentages to track against each other - and against our goals. Mine's at an easy 6% over 8 weeks - 11 pounds or so.

I like excessive rationality.

Eat bananas, then water-load. You'll be uncomfortably bloated, but have lots of water weight.
