Case Three.

[The writing is much more like Holmes' first entry, that is, clear and legible, as opposed to the frenzied mess of his previous one.]

Been kept a very busy man these days, it seems. Watson's arrival was [pause] an expected surprise, we'll call it. How I could have forg I must say it is good to have his company again, as he's already stitched me ( Read more... )

Stop going through my things.

And you love the dog.

Would you believe I mistook the coat for the one you allow me to wear?

I never said I disliked the dog. I prefer him to the alley cats for certain. And he could prove useful.

I'm sure you did.

Then have you thought of any names for him?

That aside, I made some extra money this month. Are we in need of it?

Perhaps something akin to what he left on my Afghan rug this morning.

Nothing yet, unfortunately. Though I'm thinking these disappearances happen all too frequently to people who have one of these journals. Seems odd, even for a city like this.

I was inclined to remain skeptic on the matter until another murder was revealed. It is possible that a correlation exists, but correlation with proof is better.

Have you been following this crime increase?

Naturally. But it's still something to bear in mind, just in case.

More or less. *pauses to think about it for a moment* It's weird if you ask me. Common as muggings and other petty crimes are in this city, it seems a little excessive. It's not like anyone's gone and publicly announced that certain groups of people have gotten richer lately, so it's not like anything inspired everyone to go nuts. And I doubt it could be from that jailbreak. If it was, it would've happened then and not now.

I have reason to believe certain underground rings are involved. Especially concerning the area of Hell's Kitchen.

Never seen one.

Probably would have seen one. Doesn't look like any kind of 手裏剣.

I have come across them myself in my travels. This, however, seems like a custom make.

Looks kind of like a throwing star.

That was how it was used upon me.

Someone attacked you with a bat-shaped ninja star?

Attacked may not be the precise term. Disarmed is more fitting.
