Spending time with Beat had helped take the edge of the pain, but once she'd heard Riku's voice over the network, she just broke down. She sat on the corner of her bed closet to the wall, huddled up, clutching a pillow. Her hair was still in the long braid, but it wasn't very neat anymore.
Riku peeked around the door, his face shaded by his bangs. He didn't see her at first, and he wiped his hair out of his eyes. Finally spotting her, he slipped down on the ground, crawling into closet beside her, knees drawn up awkwardly to his chest. Heeding them not, he turned and pulled the girl into a tight embrace.
Leaning into Riku's arms, Rikku starting sobbing. "Oh, Riku, I know I called him stupid, but I never wanted him to disapear!" she gasped, clinging tightly to her boyfriend.
The youth said nothing at first, rocking her gently, letting her expel a torrent of tears and anguish into his shoulder. "I know." He said finally, once her tears had died down somewhat. "I... I'm sorry."

The knock made her look up. "It's unlocked."
