Characters: Kairi, Sherry, Riku. Content: While waiting for Riku, Kairi bumps into a young girl named Sherry. Setting: In front of a small bakery located in Valhalla. Time: Early morning after this post.
Sherry was hungry and had managed to get herself lost (Who knew the 1225B tunnel came out next to a bakery? She didn't.) before she decided just to take the next alleyway exit into the city proper and find her way home from there. The tiny girl dusted off her pants and pushed the grate back into place. There! Like no one had ever bothered it! she thought, pleased with herself.
She rounded the corner hurriedly, looking down at the ground shyly to avoid suspicion from passersby when her foot smacked the uneven edge of the sidewalk. Sherry was horrified to find herself falling and not even onto the pavement, but rather, onto a copper-haired girl that just happened to be in the way. "L-look out!" she managed to squeak before barreling into her.
One moment Kairi was standing still and looking up at the store, and the next she was looking at the sky. Whoever it was that had smacked into her had knocked her down completely, and even though she had been warned, she had been too lost in thought to even acknowledge the warning.
Well, that was an interesting start to the day.
Kairi blinked, and all at once realization came over her. Gasping, the copper haired girl sat up and peered down at the girl who had collided into her without warning. “Oh, are you okay?”
Ow. Sherry blinked a few times at the other girl, and opened her mouth to reply, though nothing came out for a few minutes. She sat up and looked down at her knees.
"Yes," she finally answered, embarrassed. "I am very sorry!" she apologized and used the side of the building to stand up on shaky legs.First lost and now a collision! Sherry felt like she was going to cry and hiccuped. A Birkin does not cry! her father's sharp voice reverberated in her head. Sherry looked around quickly, her knee hurt where she'd smacked it against the sidewalk. "Are you...?" You have to be nice, Sherry. she reminded herself. The older girl was really pretty, too. Somehow, knocking her down made the whole situation even worse. Sherry sighed.
With the younger girl now standing on her own, Kairi was able to stand up as well. Pushing herself to her feet, her hands brushed over the long skirt she wore in a single fluid movement, dusting herself off. “I’m fine, don’t worry about me. What about you? Did you hurt yourself at all?”
The girl looked quite young and frail - even skinnier than herself! Kairi found herself blushing as she realized she was thinking crazy things - honestly, what did she care about weight and the like!
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Kairi smiled and placed her hands on her hips, bending down slightly as her smile grew into an amused grin. “Just be careful next time, okay? I know how it is to fall down a lot, trust me.” after all, didn’t she used to be a tomboy and was still a kind of closet one? Of course she knew what it was like to stumble a lot.
All at once the copper headed girl realized that something was wrong with the younger girl’s knee, and she frowned, finally standing up straight. “Are you okay?”
